ローグタウンでは、海賊王ロジャーの処刑台を見物するため向かった処刑台前広場で、ルフィへの復讐を企むバギー一味に処刑されそうになり死を覚悟するも、突然の落雷により逃れる。町を取り仕切る海軍大佐スモーカーに取り押さえられるが、父である革命家・ドラゴンによって解放された（ただし、ルフィはドラゴンのことに気付かなかった）。そして、リヴァース・マウンテンを乗り越え、ついに「偉大なる航路（グランドライン）」に突入する。
